Am I not producing milk??

Question

So i breastfeed But it’s taking an emotional toll on me because my baby cries so much and wakes up a lot at night , So I tried to pump barely right now and I’ve had the pump on me for about 20 minutes I didn’t even make 30 ml not even 1 oz breast rarely get huge like when they feel full I thought it was just because my baby is constantly on my breast But now I’m scared I’m actually not producing enough milk “ my baby ate about 2 hours ago so I should be producing a lot more” ??? My baby is 4 weeks old

For starters, your baby doesn’t need too much at once so it’s okay for your breasts not to have as much. At 4 weeks they only drink about 1-3 oz per feeding. Remember that AS they are feeding the breasts are producing more milk immediately. Also babies are more efficient at sucking the milk out than a pump so they can get more. 
If you’re concerned they’re not getting enough from one breast then offer the other, if they’re still hungry they’ll have it. If you already do both and they still seem hungry then wait a few minutes and offer the breast again. This will help them feel fuller and will also send body signal to produce more milk if needed. :)

I recommend to pump regularly next to breastfeeding, it helped me so much with my milk production! I barely made enough milk in the beginning few weeks and I needed to supplement also with formula because my baby was so hungry! She was constantly on the breast. But then I started pumping at least 2-3 times throughout the day and it helped a lot! Now i am able to feed her with breastmilk exclusively (she will be 6 weeks old in 3 days).

My baby's one month old. In the beginning I'd breastfeed and he would fall asleep but now that he's getting bigger he seem not to get full off the breast milk and he cries alot. I started giving him formula once or twice a day. He's been doing so much better now

My daughter is 7 weeks old and still eats every 2-3 hours and she is exclusively breastfed.  You will not feel full if she is eating regularly.  Waking up a lot at night is also normal.  My daughter still wakes about 3-4 times feeding on demand.  When breastfeeding the baby is able to get more milk than what you would be able to pump with how hormones work and what is released when breastfeeding.  I know it can be overwhelming for sure.  This is my third baby and couldn’t stick with it the first 2 but hanging in there this time.  If you are worried about producing you can visit a lactation consultant and they have ways to tell how much they are getting when feeding using a scale.
