Is brazillian waxing is that painful for a first timer? should i opt for laser instead? i have low pain threshold.

My first wax was painful, but just got my second the other day and it was much better! I do recommend tho, i probably won’t need another til after my son is born lol

It depends on your pain threshold, as others stated. I have a high threshold when it comes to waxing or plucking and it wasn’t bad the first time I got it done. Tell them it’s your first time for sure. Hard wax is best, if you go to a big chain I would suggest European wax center. Laser hair removal hurts worse than waxing, but yields permanent results once all sessions are complete. Though, it’s much more expensive. If you go with waxing, make sure to stay on top of appointments, every 4-6 weeks. Personally, I loved getting waxed. I stopped because I could no longer afford it. It does hurt, but it goes by quickly. And if you chat with your waxer it goes by much more quickly and is a nice distraction. Take some pain killers 30 minutes before your appointment and it’ll help as well. Drinking a lot of water the day of can also help because it hydrated your skin and allows for easier release of the hair follicle, and therefore less pain.

waxing is more painful than laser and will never completely get rid of the hair. that being said, the pain is not unbearable (but i had sugaring). I also have a low pain tolerance and would recommend laser (it’s also SO much faster)

make sure the hair down there is completely grown out! it hurts less. i know, you think it’d hurt less on shorter hair but oh no lol make sure it’s like all the way grown out before the wax. i told the girl it was my first time and i feel like she went a little faster. i’ve gone lots of times now and the worst time was when it was trimmed before the wax because it hurt so much.
