Allowing the baby around family after birth?

Do you think my man is over exaggerating or right!! after my son is born n at home he doesn't want nobody near our baby for about a month it is pissing me off he worries that the baby will get sick

Because of course newborn baby's are really sensitive and could really get sick !?

I had a ton of people around my baby immediately after birth. He is a perfectly healthy 10 week old.

I understand not wanting a ton of people around at first, and definately no one who is sick but Inthink that's a little extreme. Being exposed to different things is actually how the body builds immunity, so while a baby obviously can't handle much, a little is a good thing! Q

I don't think he's overreacting that much. You and him and baby need to figure out how to live together. And people do have germs and babies don't have much immune system right away, and if they aren't breastfed they don't get much immune system for awhile. Whooping cough can easily kill babies and is getting common because so many people skipped their vaccinations.

I think he is overreacting. I don't know anybody that has allowed nobody to see their baby for the first month. The baby could get sick from you or him, or anybody else that lives in Ur household going out in public at all. I think it is reasonable to ask ppl not to come if they are sick, but I think not allowing anyone over at all is a little ridiculous. Family and friends are going to want to see Ur baby and u guys and help etc. Personally I had a c section so I had to have help while my so was at work and I had a lot of company and my son never got sick! No, I don't think he is really overacting. Baby is sensitive and doesn't have the immunity that adults do.

The first 2 weeks after the baby is born only immediate family will be allowed over.

We are toying around with the idea of making sure everyone has their flu shot and TDAPP vaccine before coming into contact with our baby. 
My sister in law just had hers two weeks ago and made everyone get their vaccines first, so my husband's side of the family is covered.

He's overreacting family is safe for baby to be around just no stores or church places with big crowds. The only family I won't allow over is any that has a cold or is sick. Plus make sure you got lots of hand sanitizer and have them wash there hands and all.

We're making sure everyone has TDAP vaccine an is not sick with flu. Baby first for us an everyone else feelings second . I personally want the Alone time with my baby an don't want all the guest visits but everyone one is different .
