Isn't 18-25 weeks when you can find out gender?

I'm 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant and my Doctor told me that you can only find out the gender when your 18 weeks threw 25 weeks? I see moms on here post around 14 weeks what their having. So I'm confused.

You can find out by blood test at like 10. I've never done it but lots of people do. And usually it's 16-20 for ultrasound. My good friend is an ultrasound tech and she says 25 is do able anything after 16 is but it gets harder when the baby gets bigger so 16-20 is the best time. Hope that helps!

You can find out as early as 13 wks, most doctors wait until 18-20wks because it can look like one gender but really be another so they don't want to give you false hope. I found out at 13 wks with my daughter, 18 wks with my son and today I was 18wks 4 days and found out were having another boy! The wait sucks but your doctor wants to make sure the baby is 100% developed before telling you. Some women who post before 14wks also could have gotten a blood test to find out the gender, but most insurance plans do not cover that and it ranges between $100-$1000 for that test.

If baby corporates you can find out roughly around 14 weeks, via ultrasound. Though I've seen some as early as 12. But also I noticed most doctors are just too lazy to look. 😒 my first I had found out around 18 weeks because she wouldnt corporate at 16 weeks. This one she made us work for it at 14 weeks and both my kids I went to a 3d ultrasound place. Good luck!

My dr will do the anatomy scan between 18-22 weeks. Usually 20. We wanted to find out early so we're doing an elective ultrasound.

Typically they like to do an anatomy scan in that time frame to check everything out.  Finding out the gender is just a perk of that process.  The margin of error decreases however the closer you are to 20+ weeks.  I will be 20+3 before my scan on the 23rd and it's driving me crazy seeing everyone finding out at 13, 15, 17 weeks via ultrasound but the chance of it being wrong will be less so I guess it's well worth the wait.
