Nuvaring fell out: help

Hi,

So I’m not sure when it happened but my nuvaring had fallen out at some point. Today I was supposed to take it out but I discovered it was not there. I’ve been spotting for a little over a week so maybe it fell out about two weeks ago? Anywho the ring is not present and I’ve been spotting for a little over a week. I’ll also note I did have unprotected sex this past weekend (I’ll be getting a preg test), but I’m just trying to figure out what to do next. Like do I wait the additional week that I’d designate period time to before putting in a new ring? Do I put a new one in immediately? Yes I am getting ahold of my doctor, but I also want to hear thoughts or has this happened to anyone else? Whatd y’all do?
