Fasting and can't eat. Any tricks?

I need to do my blood glucose test. But how the hell am I suppose to not eat for 12 hours. I get so sick. I can't sleep or function if I'm hungry. I ate plenty to fill me up last night and 6 hours later I wake up in my sleep starving. I'm so frustrated because I already know I have gd I had it with my first. Does anyone have any tips to get through their fasting? the further I get along the more unbearable it becomes. Any tips??

Do your test first thing in the morning. Don't try to fast all day.

Just because you had it with your first does not mean you will have it again. I had it with my first and my 2 pregnancies after that did not. Not sure about this one yet. They don't usually make you fast if it's the one hour test and if they do its for 6-8 hrs....but maybe your doc does it different

I had no idea you're supposed to fast for this. I've always been told to eat normally. If you have gestational diabetes eating more/less likely won't change anything, but if it does and you don't get the right results, you should eat normally. That's just what I've always been told. Did your dr say to fast? I unfortunately don't have any suggestions but wish you luck!

Did your doctor tell you to fast? I would suggest lots of water and for breakfast eat protein such as eggs and maybe sausage, and even for lunch you could do a meat and green veggie. Just steer clear of anything with lots of sugar.

How far along are u?  When do they start testing for it?

Sadly the only advice I have is book your test for as soon as the office opens. I had my test at 8a. I ended up passing out three different times and having to sit in a reclined chair with my legs up for over half of the test. Then on my last draw I was so weak I couldn't hold my head up. Such a miserable part of pregnancy 😕 
I had an early GD test done at 14 weeks this time around and it came back clear! THANK GOD! So I don't have to do another 1 hour until I'm 28 weeks. Boy do I hope it comes back clear that time too. At the naval hospital (while prego with my son) they said in future pregnancies I could just start checking my sugars if I failed the 1 hour instead of doing the 3 hour; sadly at my new office I'm required to do the 3 hour test to "get the diagnoses". Ugh!
