Be honest, is my daughter's 1st birthday cake a hot mess?

Making a birthday cake for my daughter's first birthday. Not 100% please with how it came out and I can't decide if I like it enough to leave it as is, or if I scrape off the top and change it. My husband says he likes it but I don't know if he's just trying to be nice.

Looks great! Ans yuuuummmy! But I did think it was odd that the orange edge wasn’t finished. Would never have guessed moon. Can you remove a bit of the orange edging to make it more of a crescent and less incomplete looking. Oh wait! Just hit me, the reason it doesn’t look like a crescent moon is because the middle part needs to be thicker/chunkier and then gradually thing out. Google crescent moon images and maybe add some orange in to the middle of the crescent!
But…if you have crescent moon stuff on the invitation or at the party, folks should totally get it. :)

I run a bakery, and PERSONALLY, I would scrape the top and use the same colors, but do larger swirls on the edge of the top and cover the middle in sprinkles. But it looks cute as is!
