Too many ultrasounds?

Ever since I had a scare about my baby moving less (around 39 weeks) my dr did a sonogram that day to make sure she was okay. Everything looked fine and the baby was great but now I have another sonogram scheduled for 40w. Is it common to have a sonogram 2 weeks in a row? Could this harm my baby? He even told me the baby was fine from her function to the amount of fluid.

Ultrasounds are completely safe. They use sound waves to produce their images that are not harmful in any way to your babe. Best of luck!

At my office a 40 week ultrasound is routine. The one you had at 39 would not have been at my office (but like you said you felt decreased movement) so it probably wasn’t. 
So for me they probably would have still done the 40 anyways too bc that’s the routine one. 
I’ve had a few ultrasounds outside of my routine ones for various reasons as well but no matter where they ended up I still had my routine ones too

No risk with ultrasounds otherwise we all wouldn’t be having them throughout pregnancy

I have them weekly since 28w…Baby is doing good. My second had a ton too and no issues. I’m sure youre okay!

I was high risk and I had SO. MANY. A couple times two in one week between the regular OB and the maternal fetal medicine doctor. my son was fine.

40 weeks is routine, I’ve had extra when checking position and its totally fine. Some women who are high risk have weekly ultrasounds. One extra is not going to harm anything
