A birth story not like any other
I was 38 weeks pregnant when I gave birth to my son. So my husband has a 14 year old from a previous relationship. He's very reserved and shy. My pregnancy was hard when he came to live with us because he was going through depression and cutting and attempting suicide. Turns out it's because his best friends probably violently sexually abused him and his friend didn't want to be his friend anymore because he thought it turned him gay. It was a hard year for all of us. Between therapy, suicide attempts and self harm I felt I wasn't able to enjoy my pregnancy because I was always worried about him. After medication and intense therapy he was doing better. My was at work and we had a power outage. I called the electric company and they said they were working on it. I started having contractions at 12 in the morning. I didn't think I needed to go to the hospital but they were coming fast. Then my water broke. Called my husband to pick me up but no answer. My step son was gonna drive me but I'm like "You're 14. You can't". So he called 911. We were waiting and I having them come faster and I felt like she was gonna come. I laid down in the kitchen floor screaming the babies coming! He just stared at me and didn't know what to do. This is the funny part. Well not in the moment. He went in YouTube to find the episode of my wife and kids where Micheal delivered his grandson and watched some of it as I'm screaming in pain. I yelled the babies coming it's coming. So he got his favorite Harry Potter sweater and looked down. He asked me to push in a very not confident unsure way. He kept saying push and I did. We did this for maybe 10 minutes and he was out! I passed out... I woke up in the hospital. My husband has our son. I found out the court was around his kneck so tight that if my step son wasn't there the baby could have died! I cried and hugged him. My son also only can sleep if the Harry Potter sweater is on him. Not how I imagined my first birth but all worth it! And me and my step..scratch that. Me and my son bonded in a way never as before.
