23DPO brown spotting with some red blood

Any thoughts on this? My period (as I know it to be) hasn't arrived. I did get a BFP on a home test but now I'm having brown and red spotting/discharge.. not heavy like my normal period. Confused on what to think? Shall I leave it and wait for 1st pregnancy scan or go see the doc.
