Did you do genetic testing on your embryos?

I did. I had 6 embryos, 3 turned out to be abnormal and therefore likely wouldn’t have worked. I avoided potentially 3 failed transfers if we hadn’t tested and my first transfer is now a gorgeous 2 yr old little boy.

We didn’t test. Our RE didn’t think it was necessary.  We have seen a couple RE’s and neither were fans of pgs testing. I didn’t have a history of loss. I had never been pregnant. My husband and I also weren’t comfortable with discarding potentially normal embryos. I guess we are big believers in “whatever’s meant to be, will be”. We didn’t like the idea of taking cells from our embryos while they’re growing, not to mention not guaranteeing anything. We decided to transfer 1 at a time and let nature take it’s course, whatever way that may be. I’m sure I would’ve felt differently had I been older or had a history of loss. It’s been a long road, but our first transfer gave us our 2 year old little girl, second ended in a 6w mc, and we are almost 20 weeks after the third with a little boy🤍 We have 8 untested embryos still frozen.

I didn’t because I was only 26 when I did my egg retrieval.  I’ve also heard conflicting information about the accuracy of it as well.

My age and amount of eggs retrieved helped us decide. We decided against spending the extra money after speaking to the DRs about the above.

We didn’t l, for one it’s extra money and two we wanted to be surprised during the ultrasound.

We tested because of our age (both 38), hx of previous miscarriage and hx of previous failed IVF with a fresh untested embryos. If you are young and don't have other reasons to have abnormal embryos, your odds don't go up with testing. As it turns out all 3 of our embryos that made it to being tested were normal, but there weren't any guarantees.

Would have been thousands out of pocket. Our RE didn’t feel it was necessary with our other test results and diagnosis

I tested. But honestly haven’t had good results yet. It’s devastating. 
I had ten embryos. Tested eight. Three came back normal and three abnormal and two low mosaic. First transfer we transferred one normal, complete fail. Second we transferred one normal and one untested. Complete fail. I only have one pgt normal left. We paid 5,000 for testing and so far it hasn’t helped our outcome. Now I know I am probably not the norm but just putting my experience out there. 
We did testing because we have been trying for ten years and two miscarriages.

No with my first transfer. We did a fresh and didn’t want to wait. 
We had 3 remaining frozen embryos from our fresh transfer and opted to do genetic testing. Financially -  it was more expensive to do 3 transfers rather than testing then finding out. Mentally - I didn’t want to put myself through a transfer if we could find out if the embryos were normal. Time - I didn’t have the luxury of a lot of vacation or sick time to do multiple transfers back-to-back. Knowledge - If the first frozen transfer was successful then in the back of my mind I would wonder if the remaining 2 were normal. Yes we could try to transfer later but my husband and I are getting older and we prefer not

It’s mandatory at my clinic but I would have anyway. Less than half of my 5 day blasts came back normal so I’m glad we did.
