Irregular bleeding between periods

I am a 41 year old woman and my tubes have been tied for over 20 years. I am currently experiencing spotting ro bleeding like a light period after having my actual period. My period was a week late and was heavy and lasted an extra day. Since then I have been having these issues, also including clear to pinkinsh discharge at times with an odor. A few months back I bled for over a month straight and my gyn had to try 2 different hormone meds to finally get it to stop. Its so aggravating and they seem bothered when I try to get answers. I have an appointment on 11/1 but I would really like to know if anyone has any educated guess as to what they think might be going on?
