What would you do as far as Thanksgiving?

My fiancé’s sister has always been crazy cautious about covid because she has a 2 year old. 
Last Thanksgiving we spent at my fiancé’s moms house with just his brother because his sister was concerned about covid. I skipped seeing my family. 
This year my fiancé was talking to his mom and it sounds like his sister is again concerned about covid(everyone besides my nephew is fully vaxxed) so my MIL was thinking of doing it fully outside so their extended family could come. My SIL doesn’t feel comfortable being inside with anyone but immediate family. 
My aunt is hosting this year with my family, hers, and my uncles. I’m not willing to forgo seeing my family again this year, but we’ll be staying at my MILs where his sister and her family will be staying too.  Idk what to do. My aunt also lives an hour away so it’s far enough we can’t just go for dessert.

You visited his family last year, so it’s your family’s turn this year. Almost everyone I know who has two sets of extended family alternates the years that they celebrate together, especially if it involves lots of driving.

Unless it’s cold where your family lives, I don’t see the problem with doing thanksgiving outside. I grew up in FL so we always did thanksgiving outside, it was always perfect weather.

I would spend it with your family, especially if your SIL is causing a stink over it.

Do you have to stay with your MIL? Do the families serve the meal at different times? Could you divide and conquer? 
We have always done a midday meal with my husbands family, drive almost 2 hours to my family, do an early evening meal there and spend the night. We are just selective about only eating our favorites at each house 🤷🏼‍♀️ We also see both sides of our family somewhat frequently, so it’s not really an issue for us to divide time to be “fair”.
I don’t think driving an hour is really an issue,  but to each their own. It’s also totally reasonable to just choose to see one family. Maybe you go to yours on the official day and hang with his family the day after?
