Unreasonable?
It sounds stupid. But, listen.
My husband loves beef stew. I hate making it and I don't even like it. But I promised him beef stew today.
Yesterday I was exhausted. I take care of the kids all day, clean the house, and cook dinner. Yesterday I also grocery shopped and took the kids to a trunk or treat. At 8:00 last night I realize I need to thaw the meat for the stew. To be honest, I didn't feel like digging through the deep freeze. I never ask my husband for help, so I asked him to please thaw the meat before he goes to bed.
He was playing his game, which is what he has done in all his free time lately. I don't nag him about it, it's fine usually. But he stays up late doing this.
I reminded him at 10:00 before I went to bed. I said, "Please remember to thaw the meat. If you don't, you won't have any stew tomorrow."
This morning I woke up...no meat thawing. Yes, I could go out to the garage and dig the meat out. But it was 6AM and I just wanted coffee. At this point, it's unlikely the meat will thaw anyway. I'm annoyed. Because now I have to change dinner plans. Also because he's going to complain and say I should have just gotten the meat out.
Update: I got the meat out myself and decided to attempt a roast. I tried to seat frozen meat (Google said I could!) and I caught the entire stove on fire. It was terrible. This meal was not meant to be...
