Would you be mad?

I have a 7 month old and I am pregnant again, I am considered high risk. Over the weekend, we went to do some Halloween stuff with my BIL, SIL, and their son. Right away, their son was climbing on me and playing with me. Then started getting really close to the baby. BIL and SIL didn’t think to tell us their son was sick until he started coughing. They tried to say it was “just sinuses” so he was “okay to be playing with us still” and kept taking pictures of them together. But then they kept stopping him from drinking off of their cups or getting too close to them saying “I don’t want your cold” after. So I feel like they wanted to hide it because they wanted pictures of them. I am mad because they not only hid it from us but then tried to (very poorly) lie to us like we were stupid. If I get it, I will be miserable and cannot take anything, my son is now sick and is limited too. Ughhh.

Yes, I would be livid. I caught Covid at 8 months pregnant from my in laws and went into preterm labor with placental abruption. My baby and I almost died. What could be “just a cold” to one person could be deadly to the next, and it’s not cool to pretend like it’s okay to not at least give the courtesy of mentioning it so proper precautions can be made.

I take stuff like that pretty seriously, I'd be completely pissed off. Stay the fuck home if you are sick. What do people not get about this? And any kind of sick that is contagious. Colds, covids, flus, stomach bugs- some people are higher risk and might get it worse. It's incredibly rude to do this to others. Like at least warn them ahead of time, give them an option to not get their family sick :/

My BIL and SIL didn’t think to mention their daughter was sick last Christmas. She was acting fine (from what I could guess) and she was just sneezing. My in-laws live in the mountains and even though I was born and raised here, I get allergies up there. Nope. 3 days later, me and my 4 MONTH OLD were both sick. I was sick for 2 or 3 days and he was sick for 10 days. I was so pissed.

I would be so angry. My SIL brought my niece to my house to see my brand new premature baby when she was obviously sick and I almost never talked to her again.

Maybe it’s the second time mom, teacher, and mom of kids who are in daycare in me but I wouldn’t be too worked up about it. Kids get sick a lot. I think Covid has made us absolutely terrified of germs. We are really close to my cousins and they are both married and have kids now. They live away and come in a lot of weekends to stay with their mom. We visit often. It’s rare one of the kids aren’t sniffling. My daughter is 11 months, my son is 4, and then the cousin’s kids are 1, 3, and 2.

I would be violating... imagine giving birth to a newborn and you SIL shows up with her one year old coughing over your 1 day old baby.. yup my sis in law did that to me and my husband when we had our first... so for our second and third we didn’t tell anyone we given birth and once they found out we said we didn’t want any visitors.

I’d be furious. I have a real problem with people who do this to anyone. One year we were invited to a small birthday dinner, they failed to mention the birthday girl was sick, my daughter got the worst cold she’s ever had (I had to take her to urgent care as she was very lethargic with a high temp which is unlike her even in sickness) and I was pregnant as well. People don’t think, sometimes all they care about is themselves.
