What should I do?

So let me start by saying that I really love and respect my mom. At times she makes things all about her when they shouldn’t be (my wedding is the most recent example, but I won’t go into detail about that). When I told her that I was pregnant she immediately let me know that she was going to plan the baby shower and it was going to be in my hometown (which is 2 hours from where I live). She then gave me permission to have a second one where I actually live, but insisted on having one there. I was only three weeks along, so I left it alone for the time. I know that she wants to have one in my hometown because she ended up not being a part of my wedding shower at all because she didn’t want to work with my mother-in-law. She refused to even come. I’m pretty sure she just wants to have control over everything instead of working with someone else. The more I think about it, the less I want to have two separate baby showers. I want everyone to come together, and I don’t want the comparison between the two. I also don’t want to pick which one to invite my out of town friends to. If I’m only wanting one, I want to have one where I live, not two hours away. There are literally only 7 people who I would want to come from my hometown (my mom, my sister, my befriend, my two aunts, my cousin, and my grandfather’s wife). My mom refuses to invite my grandfather’s wife to it in the first place, and she wants to invite her friends (to me that’s making it about her). I’m pretty sure that almost everyone from my list would be willing to come to my area for the shower. On the other hand I can think of more than 20 people who live in my area that I would want to invite. I don’t know how to tell my mom that I just want one baby shower and I want it where I live. I’m pretty sure it’s going to hurt her feelings, but I feel like my baby shower should be about my growing family, not her. Also, she’s already said she would come to the one here if we had one, so the traveling is not the issue. What should I do?
