Successful induction & epidural!

Alyna

I gave birth to my third today, and also had my first epidural! Induction was due to a previous GBS+ sepsis pregnancy.

I was induced at 3cm & with Pitocin at 2am, ruptured water at 4am and progressed to 8cm by 9am- it was then that I caved and asked for an epidural. My contractions were back to back averaging 3 every 5 minutes, it was intense! I actually went back and told the nurse nevermind I’m not going to make it, he’s coming! And the anesthesiologist walked in in the same breath and had me going within 10 minutes. I opted to try for an epidural because baby was face up and this was my last birth, I thought it would be nice to enjoy it 🤣

I did not feel anything besides slight pressure to push and my son rolled face down and slid out of me in less than 3 contractions. It was GLORIOUS! I don’t want to say I wish I would have gotten epidurals for my previous deliveries but damn- my mood and energy levels are substantially better after having one 🤰🏼

I have no tears and was able to walk and shower by the time I reached postpartum

He latched right away for a solid HOUR, has been a little dream and I’m feeling amazing.

This was a perfect “last birth” for me ❤️✨

I hope the rest of the Nov ‘21 parents waiting have awesome experiences!!!
