My cat hates the new kitten 🙁

She is pissed. Is there any way I can help her adjust better? We tried to ease her into meeting, but that didn't help much.

She's not trying to hurt her in any way, she's just hissing and growling. She's curious about her though, so the new kitty will be waking around and my cat will follow her and sniff her butt ocassionally. But for the most part, she tries not to get closer than 2 ft from the kitty. If the kitty comes closer, my cat starts hissing.

We got our first dog, then a few months later got our cat and they were great together. When we got our second dog and few years later, my cat hated her at first too. She was much worse then though. Hissing and growling more and swating at the pup. I admit, we didn't introduce them as well as we should have. Plus, the pup was already twice my cats size, so I thought maybe that played a role.

I was kind of hoping since the kitty is much smaller than my cat, she would do better. Which she is, but not as well as I had hoped.

It took my cat about a year to warm up to our second dog (we got her about 3 years ago). I just don't want this to take a year too.
