Everything fell apart

I was going to have my baby shower in a couple weeks in my hometown and everything was set, invites sent, decorations bought, venue booked, etc. And then my OB restricted my flying privileges unexpectedly. So that was cancelled a few days ago 💔

Then I was going to have my maternity photo shoot on Friday and I was so excited. I reached out to my photographer today to get a couple details together. She had originally priced me at a $900 fee, and talked about offering hair and makeup and 3 gown choices and the photo “collection.” I paid what I thought was a $200 deposit to hold my date.

I found out the $200 was actually extra for the hair and makeup, which is fine. That’s reasonable to me honestly for getting ready for an event. BUT THEN I found out the “collection” was only FIVE PHOTOS 🤭💀 $900 for 5 photographs. And every additional photo was going to be an extra $150 after that. There’s just no way I could justify spending over $1100 for an end result of 5 pictures, not when that money could go to so many more important things for baby. So I had to cancel that and I’m out my $200 deposit of course.

It’s just not been a good week. I know that this stuff won’t really matter in the long run but I feel like the big celebration moments I’ve been looking forward to just fell apart so quickly and I’m sad about it 😥
