mittelschmerz pain cycle day 17

Some people don’t feel when they ovulate but when I ovulate and I get extreme pains. Like it hurts to walk type of pain. It hurts more than my period cramps.

I was wondering if this pain happens during or after ovulation?

My husband and I are trying for #2 and DTD earlier today but now I’m getting the really bad pains. Last month we DTD the moment I was feeling bad cramps and my period came two weeks later so I was just thinking maybe it’s a sign that I waited too long? Bc I am on cycle day 17 right now.
