Breast vs. Bottle confusion

My daughter just turned a year old.

I’m a bit confused why formula/bottle fed babies are supposed to cut off all bottles right at 12 months and mothers are shamed if their child still needs a bottle at bed time or for comfort or as a filler meal because their child won’t eat food. But a breastfed baby can literally breastfeed until they’re 3, feed before bed, through the night for comfort, and the mother is praised for breastfeeding as long as she did.
