When to start ovulation tests

Hi all, 
Next week I will remove my Kyleena UID. I’ve had the Mirena for 5 years and swapped it for the Kyleena last year. Now it’s baby making time!
I’ve had a couple menstruations since June this year (approximately the same periods but not every month)
When do I start taking the ovulation tests?
Do I wait for my period or can I take them right after?

Hi. 
So what I would recommend. Once you have the IUD removed I would wait for the normal bleeding to stop that usually comes with removal. Once it has stopped you can start taking ovulation tests. REMEMBER starting off like that is not accurate and it can take some time for you to get the results you want. 
You will want to take an Ovulation Test daily. If you know your cycle and when your last period was that will help. 
Typically you want to start testing after AF ends. If you have no idea when you ovulate it’s safe to start testing the day AF ends and just continue to test until you get a positive. Usually ovulation happens 14 days BEFORE your next AF cycle. 
So for example if you know your AF is due on the 14th. You most likely ovulate around the 1st. 
Some ladies test 2 times a day and some test more then that. Because it is possible to miss ovulation with OPKS. 
The recommendation is to test morning and night that way it is less likely to miss the PEAK. 
Sperm can live for up to 5 days in the vagina. HOWEVER the egg only has a short window. So having the sperm ready inside before ovulation is a good strategy. 😅 
I would recommend getting a BBT they are like $15 on Amazon and if you can take your BBT every morning along with OPKS you will have a better chance at actually determining OVULATION ❤️
