Could you tell you were dilated?

Question

I’m going for my appointment next week and based on how dilated I am will give answers for how we go about my induction. Curious if anyone’s been able to tell they were dilated before they found out? (Obviously not doing a check myself)

When I was 7cm I got smacked with some horrid back, butt and leg pain. When I hit 9cm I  just felt like I had to poop lol. I had no idea I was dilating until I had my cervical checks done

I swear i felt myself dilate. I had this horrible sharp pain down there while walking in a store and some period cramping. Ended up in L&D because the pain was so severe and i found out i was dilated to 1-2cm. A week prior i had an ultrasound and was completely closed.

I couldn't tell, I was dilated to 10cm when we got to the hospital and had no clue
