Do you plan on having a 1st birthday party for your baby?

I always said having a birthday party for a 1 year old is strictly for the parents, but seeing how my son has a fan base bigger than mine I'm definitely having one. I'm just curious as to what other people's thoughts are.

My babe was born in June of this year. Because of COVID we haven’t really been able to celebrate his long awaited arrival the way we’d like. He still hasn’t met one of his aunts, four of his cousins and one of his sets of grandparents because of the travel it would require. By the time he turns 1, he’ll be vaccinated (and hopefully COVID will no longer be killing people by the thousands) and we are gonna have an enormous goddamn party with family and friends from across the country.

I mean we bake a cake and sing happy birthday and let hun drool on a box 🤣 they can’t even open presents haha 
I’ve never been around enough family to have a 1 yr old bday party. It’s always just us (my husband and I plus their sibling(s))

probably not. I'll be 21 weeks pregnant and it's a week before Christmas. this mama is tired lol I'm not even celebrating my own birthday 10 days before her 😴

We did our normal family birthday party for our kids—dinner, cake, and presents at my mom’s house with my sisters. Nothing special for their first birthdays.

Our group tends to do kid birthday parties as an excuse to get together. They are not particularly birthday themed except that there is a cake involved. 
My kid was born in April 2019, so his first birthday was spent with us, and my parents who we lived with at the time 🤷🏼‍♀️

No…my husband will be deploying a month before our youngest turns 1 so I’ll just do a smash cake and pics and a pool day or something.

I don’t currently plan to, but he’s only 2 months so I may change my mind in the next 10 lol.
And who cares if it’s just for the parents? As long as it’s fun and you enjoy it, that’s all that matters.

Kind of. We are going to the aquarium then later on having cake at the house with a few close friends and family members

Yes but it won’t be anything huge. We don’t live near any family so it’ll just be the three of us. Probably a small outing and then some cake. FaceTiming relatives while she “opens” her presents.
