Is it offensive/rude?

…. if anytime you named off a baby name you like to in your laws, they said “no I don’t like that name, I like (xyz) instead”? 
My in laws are doing this and I’m trying to not let hormones take over in my response to them. But it’s so frustrating because they ask what names I like and then “check” whether they like my names or not. I don’t say anything but in my head I just think “okay cool, good things it’s not your baby to name then”. Like wtf??

That’s why we don’t announce the name we are using until baby is born.

Yep and this time with my second baby I have a name picked out that I will 90% chance use that I know they don’t like so I keep saying “oh we don’t have a name picked out yet. Nothing I like yet!🤷‍♀️” 
But really I do and I’m just not telling my in laws, my family too, because every time I mentioned the name in the past they say they  don’t like it and it’s the ONLY name I actually love 😢
They’ll be shocked when baby is born but oh well 😁

It’s your baby not your in laws baby. You can name your child whatever you please. They need to respect that. They have had their children and named them what they wanted. You don’t want to regret your choice later on.

My MIL told me she didn’t like the name we chose for our son and I could care less. I told her I don’t care that she doesn’t like it and she stayed quiet lol. That’s not my problem, girl.

 We’re naming our son Wesson Isaac we have people had it and honestly idc it’s my baby

They can't have an opinion all they want to but you name your baby whatever you want and guess what! They gunna get that heck over it! My mil did that. We told her our sons name and she kept texting me new names. I just ignored it lol

My in laws did that shit with all 3 of my kids. My mother in law takes “pride” in how she supposedly named my second baby just because it was a name she suggested which I didn’t even like in the first place. She told me the name and I was like no I don’t think Isaiah (my husband) would like it. But he did. We ended up using that name. Well my husband was spending time with his mom and he kept telling me “let’s name her Claire. I like that name “ but he didn’t before and I just knew that’s the one his mon was trying to push on us too. I low key got salty and I flat out told him that I know his mom wanted that name so we sure as hell wouldn’t use it😂😂

we loved the name nicole and my inlaws straight out said you cant name it nicole because then if you have  a boy you wont be able to name it nick (after my fatherinlaw) i just cant deal with this -_-

We shared zero name ideas with anyone. It's hard  enough to find a name both parents like. I cant get my family to agree on a pizza topping, let alone a name, it wont happen because names are so taste-specific. So dont share because it invites feedback, then youre of course going to be upset at the feedback if they dont agree with you, and you dont need the stress!
