Purchased an expired pregnancy test?

Ok so I'm very upset right now. I purchased the FRER from walgreens and it wasn't cheap ($23 for 2) because I wanted tp test as early as possible. With today being Thanksgiving and me being 8dpo I wanted to test just to double check and then use the other at 10dpo which is the morning of my birthday because I was supposed to go out with friends. I know 8dpo is the earliest you could possibly test so my hopes weren't super high but AFTER using the test I realized it was expired by several months. It was a very clear negative but now I can't even trust that result. Am I able to bring the tests back? Obviously I'm not gonna bring back the one I peed on but then will they even let me if I used one?
