How soon and how long did you shower after csection delivery?

Its been 5days now since I gave birth via C-section. I wonder if when I can finally shower. My doctor gave me a Go but I don’t trust it. I’m thinking to do at least good 20minutes to cleaned up and thinking to use a warm water.  My hair is so dirty and my breasts started to produce milk, so please any own good experience is appreciated.

I showered day 3. Just don’t soak your incision and you’re good! You’ll definitely feel better after a shower. I know I did. Felt more human.

Less than 24 hours later, but I had also been in labor and on an epidural for 3.5 days and unable to shower in that time. I couldn’t go another minute without one.

I showered in the hospital. I think the day I was discharged so day two after surgery.

I only stayed at the hospital one night and by second night i was home. Showered as soon as i got into my house, my sister stood in the bathroom with me to help me in and out of the tub and make sure i dont get wobbly on my feet. I used normal shower gel and didnt soak my incision just let wwater run over it. Was advised to immediately and thoroughly pay incision dry as soon i ws out of the shower. Felt soo much better after. Went to bed for. Couple of hours whilst dad bonded with the newborn! Best sleep ever!

I notice that most people don’t answer the soap question, to be on the safe side I would use baby soap, you already have it and it’s fragrance free and “if it’s safe for baby it’s safe for me.”

Day three. My mom helped me and I kept my incision out of the direct stream of water. I wanted to wait until they could take the IV out.

I think I was day 2 or 3 for my last c section. My nurses were worried about bleeding so didn’t want to take my catheter or IV out right away. I didn’t have the energy to wash my hair until day 4 or 5 so I just washed my body.
For my first c section the nurses literally forced me to shower within hours of the c section! I had an epidural for that one so I was able to move around right away afterwards.
