How was your Epidural experience? Did it help with pain relief and birth?

Question

So I had an elective C section 2 years ago. Now I'm due in Jan, and will be trying a VBAC. 
I don't have a  high pain threshold , that's what made me opt for a C section. Well that was a  shit move, cause the recovery was a bitch. 
Now I have a toddler , and I don't wanna be stuck with months of recovery from a C section. 
Anyway, I wanted to know if Epidural actually does help with painful contractions and make the pushing easier and less stressful ?

I still maintain that the anesthesiologist is a magician because of the huge difference an epidural made for me. I was literally sobbing pain asking to die before it and after I was cracking jokes with the medical team 🤣. I couldn’t feel the contractions at all and didn’t know when it was time to push. The doctor helps you with that though. They can see your contractions on the screen and will tell you when to push. I only needed to do it for about 5 minutes before my daughter was born.

I loved my epidural. Couldn’t feel a thing. Couldn’t even feel myself pushing but apparently whatever I was doing worked cause the baby came out lol. It was nice to get it and be able to rest since I couldn’t feel the contractions anymore.

I had one both times and most likely getting one again this time. Both times I didn’t feel any pain. I could still feel my legs and move them. They just felt really heavy. It made my labor experience really great and I got to enjoy the process instead of being in pain

For me it helped for about 4 hrs then it stopped working on me. They had to do a stronger does but by the time I had my daughter it stopped working on me again.

I made sure to get my epidural before my contractions hit too bad. I was very paranoid about getting a contraction while getting the epidural. Once I got it, I felt no pain at all! I could feel the contraction just no pain. Almost like a vibration feeling. I had absolutely no pain while pushing. I had a pump so epidural could never run out and end. It was a great experience!

My first I still felt the catheter and that’s the only thing I felt. My second I felt my whole left side. This time I’m not sure if I want it since I went half last time.

I had an epidural and it was the best thing I ever did. I was texting my whole family while I was in labor dilating 😂. ￼I delivered vaginally. Once those meds were off the recovery sucked but I was just very sore down there. Baby is happy and healthy and I recovered perfectly fine

I loved my epidural. Got it every time and will again for my 4th! My births were very mellow and I was able to get up and walk shortly after.
