When did your doctor schedule your induction?

Hey ladies, i will be 38 weeks tomorrow. Due to gestational diabetes and having a large baby, my OB says they will induce me between 38.5 and 39 weeks. At my last appointment i tried to discuss a date with the OB but she said they wait until a week prior to book it. But my OB is away at the moment and i wont see her until im already 38+6. I saw an on call OB at my last appointment and she was reluctant to schedule my induction without my regular OB. I will be seeing that same OB this morning. They all work as a team and out of the same office. I want to set a date this morning seeing as how its about a week out. How can i convince this OB to set the date?
