Does high amniotic fluid mean down syndrome?

Question

At my 20 week anatomy scan my OB discovered high amniotic fluid inside baby more than usual. 
Hes having me to a NIPT test as well another scan at high risk doctor. I just want my baby girl to be safe. 
Has anyone been through something similar?

How old are you my 2nd pregnancy I had too much but baby is fine. I was 25. If the fluid doesn't regulate it can cause baby to be breech and they might give you the option to flip him manually or wait and hope he turns if not c-section. Me and my husband both refused the flip bc there's risks. I started having contractions. gave birth a month early (due to too much fluid) and him being Breech I had an emergency c. And due to him being breech so long the risk of hip dysplasia went up but he was OK. He didn't have it.

They are most likely just doing it as a safety precaution! 
I wouldn't worry yourself too much. 
They told my aunt that my cousin was going to have down syndrome, and she in fact did not.

No, I had extra amniotic fluid that wasn’t discovered until they broke my water.  My son didn’t have any issues.
