Hormone drip without epidural?

Hey has anyone ever had the hormone drip to induce labour but managed to do so without an epidural? I’m due to be induced tomorrow and they have advised they will probably just break my waters as I’m already a few cm dilated, they did say if contractions don’t start in a few hours that I’ll need the drip. I really don’t like the idea of epidurals but also heard the drip is unbearable. This is my second baby, first baby I was induced with the pessary and had no pain relief, labour was absolutely excruciating although it was pretty quick so I’m hoping for the same this time around so hoping to avoid the epidural if I can
