What is Sleep Apnea?

Are there health problems before sleep apnea occur? There are several young adults who have died from sleep apnea,but I don't know if they had other health problems before they got sleep apnea or not. 
I know someone over the weekend that I went to school with died in her sleep from sleep apnea,but she had been having breathing problems. She was 37. I don't know if she had any health problems or not,but she heavy set girl.

Obesity is a major contributing factor. My husband has sleep apnea. He had horrible snoring, stopped breathing, always tired even after a full 8 hours of sleep. He now uses a CPAP machine and is more rested and energized when he wakes up. And doesn't snore so now I don't feel like I want to smother him with a pillow in the middle of the night. It's a win for us both.

Anyone can get. Sleep study done and you can get your answer that way. Usually there are some signs, being over weight increases your chances of death with a lot of things. Usually snoring loud, being tired and falling asleep a lot etc.

It’s where you stop breathing while asleep. Many times, your body will quickly begin breathing again, or when wake you up. But sometimes, it doesn’t and people pass away. 
There is a machine called a CPAP that helps people have with sleep apnea. It puts pressure on the airway to prevent them to stop breathing.
