I'm not sure what's wrong

Alexis

Hey everyone, before I get into this a little backstory, I had a baby almost 10 months ago and as soon as I got to 8 weeks postpartum I got the paraguard IUD placed. Everything's been okay since I had it, I have extremely heavy periods, and am always either exactly on time or one day late every so often. I don't ever get nauseous when on my period, but my cramps are extremely painful the first couple days as well. I was having sex with my boyfriend 4 days ago, and was cramping really bad when we were having sex. We don't use any birth control method outside of my IUD, and I normally cramp during sex but this time the pain was worse. After we had sex, i cramping as if I was on my period, and light bleeding, every day, everytime I went to the bathroom, since then. Today, I woke up and supposedly got my period except I'm a whole week early, which is extremely unlike me, I've never been early in my life, even right after having my baby. I have a steady period, as soon as I got my first period after having my baby my periods just went back to normal, but heavier due to the IUD that I got. And now, I'm extremely nauseous and having stomach pains along with severe cramping. I can't move out of bed without wanting to throw up, which is hard especially with an almost 10 month old whose getting I've covid right now, and extremrly unlike me. I guess I was just wondering what was everybody else's experience with a misplaced IUD, or if it could possibly be a miscarriage? I've never had one and I don't know anyone who has and I'm sorry if asking that is offensive in any way! I just don't know what's going on, and the soonest appointment I could get was January 15th.

Could be PID from the IUD. It shouldn't be left alone if it is that, so I'd call the office back and request an emergency appt or try another office that can get you in in a timely manner.

Pelvic inflammatory disease, it's a possible side effect of having an IUD
