What’s your favorite thing to do on Christmas EVE?

When I was a kid I used to do a Christmas puzzle and watch all the die hard movies all day long

We used to make little lanterns out of old tin cans, put candles in them and go for a walk in the moonlight after dinner.

As a child we always went to a church service dressed in our best (we would literally have special shopping trips to buy "Christmas eve outfits"). We would then come home and if we drank a cup of eggnog (nonalcoholic of course) we got to open a stocking stuffer. Then we would watch a Christmas movie. 
Now, as an adult, if we are in town by family we will spend Christmas eve with either my family or his and Christmas with the other. If we aren't in town we usually just relax, watch a Christmas movie and have popcorn & hot cocoa. Im sure traditions will change once our son is old enough to enjoy it (im due any day now lol)

I honestly don't remember any Christmas Eves from my childhood. Not a single one. I remember two Christmas's from my childhood but that's all.
But as an adult, I spend Christmas Eve with my mom and sisters doing the "Gift Giving Ceremony", we have lunch or dinner and then we either do something together or separate on Christmas Day.

Both my husband and I would spend Christmas Eve with extended family so we’re going to start that this year with his mom. Hopefully we’ll build more traditions as we go, our oldest is only 2. I know our Santa gift for her will be a book each year as she LOVES books and reading already. The day after Christmas is always with my family.

I love these posts, because the answers are always fun. Where I'm from our entire celebration is on Christmas eve! So we eat, dance around the Christmas tree and open gifts in the evening.
Which is honestly stupid, because you can't do anything with the gifts before the day after anyway 😂
