What to do when your bestie makes rude comments about your SO

I started dating this guy recently, it’s very fresh and he’s yet to meet all my friends. He posted a photo of us on social media and I sent it to my friend in awe of how sweet this new flame was being. She made insensitive comments about his appearance and laughed at his grammar (he’s severely dyslexic). I didn’t react or respond at the time. But my frustration is brewing over it. What do?

I wouldn’t have a friend like that. But if you think she is worth keeping as a friend, I would first question her friendship and second defend my man. She sounds jealous.

I had a friend who was like that when I started dating my now-husband. Questioning my judgment and being very rude to me. She was making assumptions about him without ever meeting him in person (we met on Christian Mingle and our whole relationship was long-distance) just because of his appearance in one picture. I think she was going through a break up that summer, but I didn’t think that was an excuse to be rude to my husband and me just because I was in a new relationship. Needless to say, we stopped communicating after that and haven’t talked in 2 years. It stinks, but it happens.
