Shallow Latch
My baby has a shallow latch that hurts very bad when she first latches. After that it usually isn’t painful, but it’s bothersome because it’s like she’s chewing on the tip of my nipple. I try getting her to open wide and she will but she always pushes it back out to the front of her mouth. I have to constantly keep pushing more into her mouth. Her pediatrician said she had a small mouth and a strong suck but she does seem to push away with her tongue. Is there anything I can do for this? She said the only thing a nipple shield would do is making not hurt.
