Questions about Monistat for yeast infection…

I haven’t had a yeast infection in years, so I’m not sure what helps cure it. I’m breastfeeding and I’m not sure if I can take it because it says ask your doctor and I don’t have one. I also don’t know if it’s worth trying because when I was reading reviews some women said it’s terrible. Apparently it’s caused even worse itching and burning. So has anyone used it while breastfeeding and/or not have any issues while using it? If not, what do you recommend?
