Trying for another baby after c section

Hi everyone so I have a 5 month old boy and he was delivered by emergency c section how long can you start trying for another baby after a section x

My doctor said not less than a year to recover, 18 months is even better, ideally 2 years to heal and give your body a break. 
My first was an emergency C-section, we didn’t start trying for a second until he was 2.5 - we also wanted a bigger age gap so it worked well for us. My kids are 3 years 2 months apart. 
I personally wouldn’t start trying until at least a year PP, as per my doctors instructions - but you can ask your OB as well and see what they say for your specific medical case.

Depends how kind you want to be to your body & whether you want to try for vaginal next time. It's major surgery & although it may look fine on the outside, there's a lot to heal. My first was emergency c-section & then had my second in June after 3 years. I was terrified of rupture & fairly determined to have a vbac...which I did & all went well

I wasn't trying (also wasn't really preventing 🤦‍♀️) but I got pregnant 5 months postpartum

My OB said that there should be no less than 2 years apart in age to decrease the likelihood of rupture.
I would be cautious listening to the advice about listening to your body, etc or stories where everything was fine. The recommendation from doctors is based off of statistics. It’s not saying you can’t have a successful, safe pregnancy/delivery with less time. It’s saying that they have found you are less likely to have issues if you wait a little longer. Obviously everyone is different. 
I had my son exactly 2 years after my C-section with my daughter because he came a month early.  I was terrified of my decision to try for VBAC and rupturing even waiting that amount of time.

I wasn't trying but I got pregnant with twins when my son was 5 months old and was delivered via c section. Everything was great and went smoothly with the c section to deliver them, it was a way easier recovery with them as well since it wasn't a rushed emergency one. It was my third pregnancy but the easiest as well☺️

It's best to wait 18 months between any pregnancy to allow your body to heal and rebuild itself. Pregnancy and birth is a huge load on a body, and even more so with a c section.
