Hormones
Hi everyone, I'm feeling really frustrated at the moment regarding hormones and birth control.
A bit of backstory: ive been on the pill (yaz) had a hormonal IUD, and am currently using a diaphragm and spermicide.
The IUD gave me severe cystic acne, which I am still recovering from a year later.
The pill (yaz) gave me a massive pulmonary embolism which nearly killed me this August, so I can no longer take hormonal birth control.
I am not trying to have a baby at the moment, but do want to in the future when my husband and I are ready.
I'm allergic to copper, so I can't have a copper IUD.
I have recently been having irritation and a thin, white/gray discharge that is clumpy and uncomfortable. It's been about a month and not going away. I've seen my gynaecologist and was negative for BV, STDs, and yeast infections.
I have also missed my last two periods, but I'm not pregnant and don't seem to be ovulating. This leads me to believe I may have PCOS, combined with my other symptoms of difficulty loosing weight, acne and oily skin, mild hair loss, and dark hair on my chin which has been growing rapidly as of late. My tears have even been burning my eyes lately, which I read can be hormonal as well.
I'm so frustrated because I can't be on a hormonal birth control due to the risk of clotting, but I think the spermicide is causing this irritation and reaction. I CANNOT risk getting pregnant because I still need to get further blood testing to see if I will be a high risk pregnancy, and I'm trying to lose weight to minimize the risk.
Have any of you had similar problems? I will be seeing my gynecologist again soon to talk about testing for PCOS, but I'm really frustrated because I know there is no cure so I don't think she can really help me.
I just want to feel normal again.
