How does anyone recognize early labor?

My first kid was induced so I have no idea what to look for or expect for early labor. I am 36 weeks and for the past several days I have had (maybe) Braxton Hicks all day long, sharp pains deep in my vagina which I think are from my cervix dilating, and I have been nauseated. Is this early labor? I have no clue. I feel like I'm going to be walking around and not know and then the baby is just going to fall out at some point.

A lot of people have period like cramps. Start out uncomfortable then progress. For me I go hard and fast really quickly.

I was in the same boat with baby #2, my first was induced so I had no idea what to look for. I ended up with prodromal labor starting at 37+5 weeks that lasted until delivery at 40+5. My doula kept telling me it would feel different when it was finally real labor but I can assure you it did not. The only difference for me when it was the real thing was that each contraction made me have to pee.

I had 4 of my babies induced, my last one I went in on my own, trust me u will know. I was getting period cramps with my contractions, I knew I was in early labor. Went in and withing a short time I think no more then 4 ish hrs we had our baby girl. 
Ur body can bet def getting ready for baby time.
