Bassinet vs. 3in1 pack and play

Question

Hey everyone, I can’t decide what to get, a bassinet or a 3 in 1 pack and play? If I go for a pack n play are the sheets easy to change? If I pick a bassinet where do you guys do midnight diaper changes; versus where the pack n play has a changing station? I’m just so confused which one to go for. If anyone has any experience with either one that would be awesome.

Pack n Play! My 8 week old hated her bassinet. She has much more room in the main part of the Pack n Play.

I love the bassinest as, I can have this over my bed close to me. It is sturdy and heavy. Very safe. 
I would just get the regular one without the bells and whistles as I only use the light on mine lol.

I have both! The pack n play was a gift from my registry. I have a changing station set up in my room on my own dresser. The pack n play I have in my living room so we can put baby in there and eventually she can get comfortable using it as a playpen. I think if you’re trying to get only one the pack n play is a better investment it will last much longer, you can travel with it, and it achieved multiple goals. If you do end up getting both, you don’t have to spend tons on the bassinet either. I got a fisher price one that cost $140 but that was because I wanted one that had extra features, there’s cheaper ones out there. My pack n play cost $130 but that one was free to me personally

Personally, my kids would not sleep in the pack n play. I think it was too rigid. If I am lucky enough to have a third, I plan to switch to a bassinet.

We have an antique wood cradle that we used for my daughter, but she outgrew it in a month, then we moved her to the bassinet of the pack and play until 3 months then the lower park of the pack and play until we moved her to her own room and crib at 5 months

I don’t have a product to recommend but I suggest at pack and play. We decided instead of buying a crib for our second or a bassinet we would get a 3in 1. Honestly the baby outgrows the bassinet very quickly and even with the pack and play they out grow the changing table part. I always changed diapers on the floor. In the long run this saved us money because by the time our baby was ready to transition into a bad (about 20 months) we had our third child and still using the same pack and play.

I got a bassinet for my first baby and I hated it. He hated it. We all hated it. I got this mini crib for my second baby and it was perfect. He’s also slept in a pack n play. I would definitely opt for a pack n play or crib. Also, you can purchase mattresses that are made for pack n plays.

I love my bassinet which hangs off the end of my bed. I change nappies on my bed. The negative is  they only last 6'ish months before they outgrown them. So you'll have to buy a crib or pack and play eventually.

We used the bassinet insert of the pack n play with both kids for 6 months each. Ours had a changing station, but it wasn’t actually flat and our son peed into the bassinet and then we had to change that sheet and clean the station part. We took it off and just changed him on the floor in the living room, which is also where I went to nurse. Much easier for us. We bought two quilted water resistant backed sheets off Amazon designed for pack n plays that are super easy to change.

I got all 3, a newborn bassinet (with built in nightlight) for right after birth, a pack n play for the master bedroom when she outgrew the bassinet, and then a crib that transitions to a toddler bed for the nursery - her room.
Transitioning her between them worked wonderfully for us!
