Is spotting a side effect of BV

So I found out I have BV, I have been given some medication (metronidazole, take 3 times a day) I have looked at the side effects on the packet. So before my diagnosis which I was experiencing horrible mood swings,cramping, some spotting, bad smell and green discharge. Then I had light bleeding one day after my period with bad cramps, which had me almost tears but yesterday was my first day of medication I’m cramping and it’s causing me to have some bowel movement(which I have had before the medication).

I took a pregnancy test, because I have horrible mood swings, alongside some spotting and nausea + cramps but the test was negative)So today is day 2 (will be the full day I’ll have the three course tablets done) I’ve been feeling nauseated and cramping and showing signs of spotting after the medication. It’s not too bothersome but I’m just writing up to see if anyone else experienced this.
