Gestational Diabetes - when did you deliver?

Hey there! I was just diagnosed with GD, and was wondering when other moms with GD ended up delivering? My doc said that there is a risk of earlier delivery if she gets too big, but right now I’m too far out to tell (30 weeks). Thanks!

Ive had gd with all of them. I was talked into unnecessary induction a week early (39 weeks) with my first because my dr was going on vacation( I didn’t know any better). Worst mistake ever! Anyway, my 2nd was right on time, 40 weeks. My 3rd was late almost 42 weeks. Then we’ll see what this one wants to do.

I’ve had GD every pregnancy and delivered at 31+1 and 38+5. The early deliveries had nothing to do with my GD. As long as you keep your sugar levels in check you should be fine!

I was borderline gd with my first. I went into natural labor at 38+1 and was 6lb 14oz; not big by any means.

Controlled with diet here and so OB let me go. Initially she’d talked about 38-39wk induction but at 36wk scan baby size was good so we scheduled induction for 41 wks and baby came naturally at 40+1. Baby’s blood sugars weren’t just good, they were excellent and the paediatrician said “are you sure this mum had GD?” I left hospital about 10kg lighter than pre pregnancy weight. 
Just did my GTT for this pregnancy so we’ll see in next few days what the verdict is this time…

I had it with 3 of my kids, all delivered the 39th week, biggest was only 7 pounds 6 oz

My GD was controlled with diet. My dusghter grew exactly as expected following her curve. She was so average in size when born it almost hurts and she came a day before her due date all on her own 😊
Had a more or less uncomplicated birth I did however have trouble with the contractions for pushing as they were to short so I got something to help my contractions along.
Uncomplicated, average and we were both all fine after birth 😊

Hi! 
As long as you are eating healthy and active, monitoring your sugars - I wouldn't worry about baby getting too big. This also depend on your genetics - ask your mom and your partner's mom on how big you and your partner were when you were born. Rough average of that would be your baby's expected weight. Ultrasound techs predicts or tell you 2-4 lbs above baby's actual weight as well.
I gave birth 39 weeks and 5 days - 6 lbs and 11 ounces. My last ultrasound was done a week before giving birth and was told that I was going to give birth to an 8 lb baby lol
