Will I be able to have a VBAC?

Hi ladies.

Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby number 2. My daughter is 6 months old tomorrow and will be 14 months when baby 2 comes along. Will I be able to have a VBAC, or will I have to have another c section as they are so close together?

I think you can vbac when deliveries are at least 1 year apart but 18 months between deliveries is the recommendation. As your dr what they determine is a safe recovery time. I know the shorter the time between the risk of a rupture goes up

It depends on the state. I'm aiming for a Vbac but my daughter has to be 2years old. Baby is due the same month she was born

Although I haven't personally read the guidelines I've heard they say nothing about length of time in-between pregnancies. I've heard of 11 months in-between having successful vbacs.  Do your research. ICAN is a great resource. Go into your doctors appointment armed with info so you don't get bullied into an unnecessary c-section! One thing I've learned is not to trust all doctors. Policies and lawsuits are a big influence on their medical care. Good luck!

You will have to have a C-section. If you want a vbac you have to wait a year before you get pregnant after a C-section. My mother was pregnant with me when my sister was 5 month and they didn't allow her to have me naturally. Also my sister in law who gave birth this year has a 20 month old and a 5 month old and had to have the younger on via C-section because the other was a C-section and they were to close.
