Newborn and visitors?

Question

Hey soon to be mamas, how are ya’ll handling visitors when your little one arrives? Are y’all requiring friends and family to have flu shot, tdap, covid vaccine? Masks? Negative covid tests? Are ya’ll waiting any particular time frame until you have visitors? In this ever evolving covid world, everything is always changing but just wondering what some of you are thinking?

I don't want anyone coming lol Not a people person but we will allow his parents and my
mom and sister visit. They're all super conscious about covid and have really good hygiene. But it won't be right away. I want to settle in and relax a bit before having people in my space. I want a nice uninterrupted bonding time with my sweet baby. ❤️

I had my baby three weeks ago and haven’t allowed visitors. Between covid, cold and flu and RSV I don’t feel comfortable just yet. We are stationed states away from any family so we FaceTime with my parents and in laws a lot. When my daughter was 5 months old a family member came to visit knowing they were sick and infected my baby, so not allowing visitors this time around was an easy decision for us. 
To each their own, you just have to do what makes you most comfortable!

My game plan is no visitors for the first couple of weeks so my husband and I can adjust to our new lives. I'm sure we will be doing plenty of video calls though lol. After that, close family can come to our house to see baby, but they have to wear masks and wash their hands when they get here. Once we're ready to allow people to babysit, we require all babysitters to have tdap and covid vaccines. If they say no to vaccines then they don't get to babysit. Family who don't want to babysit and only want to visit don't have to get vaccinated but have to wear masks and can only visit at my home. My baby, my rules, and like I said this is just my plan, I know plans change all the time.

So we are only seeing the people we truly trust to be safe and who wouldn’t put our newborn in any sort of danger. So really it’s only my MIL, my husbands grandparents and my husbands coworkers as they are in healthcare and have been vaccinated and know the precautions to take during this time. We aren’t being AS strict in terms of no visitors because my oldest who is 3 and a half has been begging us for play dates with friends since she doesn’t get to see them often (we moved an hour and a half from our previous home).

This is my first pregnancy and visitors are something that myself and my partners have heavily thought about. My current plan is no one for the first 2 weeks while we adjust and then family can come visit a couple at a time after that. I live across the country from most of my family so FaceTime will be a big part of our introductions as far as my family is concerned. I’m going to ask that people wear masks if not vaccinated and no kissing or putting faces near his. The concern I have is keeping my MIL in line during this time, she lives next door and expects that she will be allowed over at any time.

Our plan is only grandparents for first week or two provided they have negative LFTs. 
After that close family but they will also have to have an LFT and its highly unlikely I'll be letting them hold him until later on.

My MIL already moved in. My parents were going to come down Friday (she’s due Monday) but they are sick currently so they will wait until symptoms resolve. No other requirements that I wouldn’t follow in non Covid years. Don’t come if you’re sick, wash your hands, and use common sense. I don’t know people’s vaccination status and won’t ask. Friends I’ll have over when I feel up for it. 😊 just want this baby out of me now!

Same as when we had a baby in 2018. Grandparents were asked to get tdap. Don’t come over if sick. No other restrictions but also, we don’t like people coming to the house until baby is 3-4 months. We will visit others if we want to.

As long as you have on a mask and gloves you are welcomed in my home to come see my children . Otherwise it’s a no for me
