Bumper

Question

So my 4 month old has been sleeping in his crib in his own room for about a week. He only rolls tummy to back right now but he’s a scooter. I place him towards the back of his crib and he still gets up by the front. He keeps getting his arm stuck between the wooden bars. I’m now sure which would be better or to do both? Advise please!

Nothing in the crib with baby. Unfortunately Bumpers, even the mesh ones, are not safe and not recommended.

NEITHER of those. Absolutely not safe what so ever. That pillow thing is very dangerous and not safe sleeping approved and the crib bumper is a suffocation hazard. Absolutely nothing is to be in the crib except for mattress, tight fitted sheet and baby. That’s it.

No kind of crib bumpers are considered safe. Think of it this way, a boo boo on his arm is far preferable than suffocation/strangulation from bumpers.

Nothing. They’re very unlikely to hurt themselves even if it looks scary to you. And even worst case scenario, a broken arm is better than a dead baby

Absolutely not the first one! Major suffocation hazard. Babies practice everything in their sleep and bed before practicing on the floor. Realistically, even mesh bumpers are not recommended… baby will learn not to stick arms and legs thru the rails pretty quickly.
