Rh sensitized

Hey ladies, i really need a glimmer of hope here. I ws going through my blood work from when i gave birth to my son. The day before he was born they checked my rh antibodies because im RH- and my husband is rh+. Unfortunately i came up positive for the rh antibodies. My son was confirmed to be rh+.

Through out my pregnancy i had some spotting and mild bleeding here and there. Due to me being RH- i always went in to be checked out and let the doctors decide if the rhogam shot was necessary. Each time i was brushed off because the blood wasnt like a period, only spotting. 4 different doctors saw me through out that time and none gave me the shot. I did have the shot at the recommended time during pregnancy and after my son was born.On september 18th at 26 weeks, i tested negative for antibodies. So it would have been between then and december 17th (when i got the positive antibody screen) where i got sensitized. My son was born december 18th. It takes a couple weeks to develop antibodies and they never go away.if you develop them then any future pregnancy will either end up in miscarriage, stillbirth or a very sick baby with severe anemia. I think maybe there is a chance things could be ok but its terrifying and slim.

Heres the issue. No one told me. I had to find out on my own by looking at my results online on my netcare and doing research. I plan to bring it up to my OB and making sure every doctor i had seen in that time frame is also made aware so this doesnt happen to anyone else. I also plan to report my OB for not telling me about being sensitized.

Has anyone else been sensitized? I know its extremely rare. Did you go on to have a healthy pregnancy after? What was the outcome?
