3 weeks old

My baby is 3 weeks old and he falls asleep fine when held but he wakes up after a couple of minutes after being put down in his Moses basket. I leave him to see if he will go back to sleep but when he starts to cry I pick him up and he falls asleep again. I keep white noise on for him as well.

I know it’s very common for baby’s to want to be held all the time but will I be creating a bad habit if I do?
