38 weeks and 3 days. Breast feeding?

Question

This will be the first baby I get to bring home and I want to breast feed. I am nervous and I was wondering  if anyone had any advice to share to make it easier or stories to make it less scary. Anything to ease my mind. Also what were signs you were going in to labour?

If the baby doesn't latch right away it's okay! They have so much learning to do. I had so many problems that a nurse suggested nipple shields which worked!! Finally she was happy and drinking. Breast feeding for me was very much instinct. Any difficulties you may have, you can request a lactation consultant. 
I’d say slather on the nipple cream, your nipples will feel chapped & that hurts BAD. Also breastfeeding is very hard for most people the first week or two. You’re tired, you have a baby feeding off you every 1-2 hours, you feel sore, your uterus contracts with every suckle. But getting past that, it gets soooo much easier. You can do it

I was also worried but my lil one latched right after being born. The hospital had a lactation consultant visit me just in case I had any questions. I've been able to breastfeed my daughter for a year now. I will say the best nipple cream I found was bamboobies and there breast pads are also good.
