Is water birth harder or epidural ?

I’m honestly thinking to go natural this time I have never been natural and I have friends who have been natural with all of their kids but they are bigger and much more cushion I’m kind of smaller and don’t know if I can endure the pain. I don’t know if that matters, but I honestly want a water birth this time… I don’t know who is going to be there when I deliver an endure so much pain but I hope that I can one day experience it

“More cushion” is honestly so rude. Weight has nothing to do with labour pain. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. I have myself been looking into water birth but this is my first so I’m kinda clueless, a lot of people I’ve spoken to have said it makes the pain hurt less as your muscles are more relaxed in the water. You could always try and if you can’t handle the pain you can get out and opt for pain relief x

Try both. 
My hospital had a giant bathtub so people can have a water birth but they could get out and opt for an epidural if they want. 
Of course Natural hurts more but the recovery is more better. I was able to labour and walk around as I wanted and breathed my baby out instead of being stuck on the back like an epidural. 
"More cushion" also sounds super rude.

I've had three natural and can't imagine it any other way!!! I'm 5'2 and weigh 130 at the start of pregnancies so I'm definitely on the smaller side, and I am telling you I have never felt more empowered than when I'm in labor! Just trust your body, embrace the pain, and you can totally do it if it's what you want!! I wanted to do a water birth with my second but he came to fast, before the pool was filled lol. I've also had two home births. I'm happy to answer any questions about how I got through labor/delivery!

I will never ever ever get drugs or an epidural again. They messed up my dosing at the hospital, I don’t even remember my child’s delivery!!! I did a completely natural birth the second time and it was the best decision I ever made. Less tearing, full control, you can walk immediately afterwards, heal faster, and honestly the mental clarity is something I couldn’t even believe.

I've had one with an epidural, one without. I preferred without way way more. Sure it's painful but learning how to relax and breathe through your contractions makes the pain way more bearable. I'm planning a home birth with my 3rd so obviously will have no pain relief again. It was so incredible to feel my body naturally go through birth.

I just recently had my third baby (New Years Eve🥳) and she was a home birth. Size has nothing to do with how capable we are of birthing our babies or the pain we will feel. I’m 5’2” and weighed 126lbs before pregnancy (I also weighed the same before I became pregnant with my second baby) and I had both without any medication. My second baby came out in no time (had her in hospital) labor and delivery was painful, but it was so worth it for me. This last baby had shoulder dystocia and got stuck which was incredibly painful, but we got through it. She recovered very well and so have I, I had no tearing. My two older children (6 & 9) were here at home sleeping when she came, and slept through the entire ordeal! Our bodies were built to carry and deliver babies! You can do this!!

I had a home birth, tub optional. I had back labor and it was completely gone in the tub. Contractions still hurt and the whole birthing portion 😆

I also got the epidural later during my labor which sped things up cause it helped me relax thru the contractions. I was able to breathe out my 10lb 5oz baby in 20 min, 6 big pushes.

I would really recommend that whatever path you choose (I would go natural again if I had the chance) that you keep as active as possible and do as much Yoga and meditation - it really helps to keep you flexible and the fitter you are, the better you will handle the birth- and the less likely you are to need intervention
